Meet Kelly LeechMember of RE/MAX'S Top 100 in Western Canada!
An Australian by birth, a Canadian by naturalization, I grew up on my family's wheat/merino sheep farm North of Adelaide in South Australia. Canada has been my home since 1971 principally Vancouver, Victoria and Calgary. During my travels I have employed my skills as an RN, enjoying the adventure of relief outpost nursing in NWT and Nunavut in the Canadian Arctic. Also my considerable experience in Geriatric nursing has given me great empathy with seniors and their often special housing needs. As a single parent, Kelly had the honour of watching her two sons develop into happy positive men. Her eldest son has his own high performance auto company, Tunerworks, in Calgary, and his brother is in Australia doing his MBA with a focus on China. In May 2006, Kelly was congratulated by RE/MAX of Western Canada for being in the top 100 RE/MAX realtors for sales in May 2006, from Winnipeg to Victoria. In June 2006, she was also in the top 100 for Western Canada. Since returning to Calgary in 2001, Kelly has consistently been in the Calgary Real Estate Board's "Million Dollars Club". (This means I am in the top 280 Realtors out of over 4,400.) A big part of my success comes from all of my new and past clients who recommend me to friends. I thank all of you for that! Twice in 2007, I was in the top 100, Re/Max Realtors for sales....from Winnipeg to Victoria!
My limited leisure time is devoted to cooking, reading, skiing, breeding Affenpinschers - rare Terriers, attending advanced driving schools at Race City Speedway with the SABMW Club, and relaxing with friends and family. A special part of each day is reserved for walks with Lily, my Affenpinscher, who has endured endless hours of waiting at Open Houses without a whine or whimper. I am a member of the SUNRISE TOASTMASTERS CLUB in Calgary, one of our most vibrant fun clubs. I look forward to helping you with your real estate needs! ![]() ![]() Kudos to my family in Australia! Kelly Engineering named Australia's Regional Exporter of the Year An agricultural tool that cuts farmers' fuel use and need for chemicals has helped Kelly Engineering win the title of Australia's Regional Exporter of the Year. The win at last night's 48th Australian Export Awards caps off an outstanding year for the family-owned and operated business. The Booleroo Centre business had already won the national and state regional titles in the Telstra Business of the Year awards as well as being named state winner of the regional category in Business SA and Austrade's export awards. The Australian Export Awards are the most prestigious industry accolades and are co-presented by Austrade and the Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Winner of the top award the Prime Minister's Exporter of the Year was Future Fibre Technologies, a Victorian company which uses fibre optic detection and location systems to protect military, petrochemical and government sites. Kelly Engineering was the only SA winner with the judges commended its invention, the patented Diamond Disc Chain Harrow, as a "breakthrough in light tillage". There are six models in the harrow range which mulch stubble and create excellent seed beds while reducing fuel use. "Kelly Engineering has made a significant contribution, not just to its community, but also to the national prosperity," Austrade's SA manager Pat Moessinger said. "The company represents what is best about Australian business dynamic, resourceful and determined to succeed in international business." "Kelly Engineering stood out for its strong and sustainable export growth. "This increased export demand has resulted in jobs growth for the company." Founded 25 years ago by Peter Kelly as a machine-repairing hobby business, Kelly Engineering has thrived under the leadership of his son, Shane. Still based at the family's farm 10km south of Booleroo Centre, it now employs about 38 staff and has annual turnover of $11 million. The company looked set to continue its strong export sales and is negotiating manufacturing licensing arrangements in the US. Kelly machines are already manufactured under licence in Denmark.
